The beach has lifeguards on patrol during the summer months and is a well renowned location for surfers and wildlife enthusiasts. The beach is over 1.5 miles long and is part of Mounts Bay. Basking sharks, seals and dolphins have been seen from the beach. Of geological interest are the raised 1000 year old peat beds near the cliffs.
Walkers will enjoy the Cornish Coastal Path which passes the property affording beautiful and at times bracing cliff top walks towards St Michael's Mount or the Lizard. Amenities nearby include shops, take aways, beach cafe and the family friendly Sandbar pub.
Visitors are welcome at the 9 hole golf course where clubs can be hired. Sailing is available nearby at Penzance and Falmouth. Praa Sands has a high reputation for fishing. Alternatively just relax and feel the sand between your toes and let the water lap at your legs!
